Kelleigh is reacquired
by company founder
Kelleigh Corporation, a manufacturer of flexographic photopolymer platemaking equipment, has been re-acquired by its original founder, Leigh Jezorek.
“We’ve purchased the company based upon feedback from many of our former Kelleigh Corporation customers, who wanted the high standard of service and engineering they had come to expect from the original company,” Jezorek says. “We believe there is continued growth opportunity for equipment sales of our precision engineered flexo platemaking systems for use by all flexo platemaking systems including solvent, water wash and thermal.”
Kelleigh Corporation, founded in 1974, was sold to Photomeca, a French company and its largest foreign competitor, in 1998.
According to Jezorek, Photomeca was acquired by an investment banking firm and its name changed to Global Graphics. Several other companies were acquired in related fields, but in recent years Global Graphics began to divest itself of its hardware businesses. Jezorek exercised the opportunity to buy the company back in June.
The re-purchased company is located in Trenton, NJ, in space shared with Heights-USA, a manufacturer of OEM equipment for the commercial offset printing market.
Kelleigh is perhaps best known for its Model 310 platemaking system. “Our bread and butter by far has been the 310,” says Jezorek. “People who know how to use the equipment well are doing 200 line screens day in and day out. We have sold hundreds and hundreds of those.”
